“Request a quote” is the process of asking a vendor to provide a formal price estimate or quotation. This is done when a customer or potential client is interested in purchasing something or hiring a service but wants to know the cost before making a decision.

How To Enable Request A Quote Functionality On Your Marketplace?

Enabling the "Get Quote" Functionality for Sellers on Your Marketplace:

  1. Initiate the process by navigating to the Site setup page.

  2. Proceed to the section designated as "Manage Order Type."

3. Opt for the "Create/Edit Order Type" feature.

4. Select the Order Type.

5. Activate the functionality denoted as "Allow sellers to enable 'Get Quote.'"

6. Save the modifications made.

7. Proceed to allocate this order type to the applicable category.

Enabling the "Request for Quote" Functionality for Listings:

  1. Progress to the Add Listing page.

  2. Delineate the suitable category and order type.

  3. Thoroughly populate all the requisite fields for the listing.

  4. Enable the option denominated as "Request for Quote."

5. Activation of this Request for Quotation functionality will render it discernible to prospective buyers upon their perusal of this listing.

Requesting a Quotation from the Buyer's Perspective:

  1. Navigate to the detailed page of the listing in question.

  2. Conscientiously designate the desired date, time, or quantity.

  3. Effectuate a selection of the "Request a Quotation" feature, which shall yield a modal dialogue.

4. Craft a formal message addressed to the seller.

5. Conclude the process by selecting the "Save" option.

6. Subsequently, you shall be redirected to the inbox page, where the corresponding message thread resides.

7. Therein, find your initiated communication.

8. Patiently await the response from the seller subsequent to their update of the quotation.

Updating the Quotation from the Seller's Vantage Point:

  1. Following the receipt of a quotation request, the seller shall be duly apprised through electronic correspondence.

  2. Access your inbox and, more specifically, the "From Buyer" subsection.

3. Proceed to scrutinize the incoming quote request.

4. In the event, that the quote message is indicated as "Quote Requested," you are encouraged to click on the message for further interaction.

5. Meticulously peruse the provided quote particulars.

6. Engage in a professional discourse with the prospective buyer.

7. Adjust the quoted price in accordance with the negotiation.

8. Select the appropriate currency; this designated currency shall be transparently presented to the buyer and shall function as the currency of transaction for this specific quote.

9. Set a precise expiry date, signifying the point at which the quote shall expire. It is imperative to note that, upon reaching this expiry date, prospective bookings of this quote will be precluded.

10. Conclude this process by invoking the "Update Quote" function, thereby manifesting the status of the quote update.

Booking the Quoted Price:

  1. Upon completion of the quote update by the seller, the buyer shall be notified via electronic correspondence.

  2. Access the inbox messages within your account.

3. Thoroughly review the message pertaining to the quote.

4. Subsequently, select the "Book" option, facilitating redirection to the Payments page.

5. Undertake the requisite steps to consummate the transaction.

What Will Happen After The Expiry Date Is Reached?

  1. In the eventuality that the stipulated expiry date is reached, prospective buyers shall no longer retain the capability to secure bookings for the listing.

  2. Concurrently, the "Update Quote" feature at the disposal of the seller will be withdrawn.

Can Admin Enable/Disable the “Request A Quote” option?

Yes. Admin can enable this option in the “manage order type” by enabling or disabling the toggle bar near the “Allow Request A Quote.” However, this change will not be reflected in already existing quotes until the seller updates their listing.
